The New York State Education Department has recently changed its communication device policy for the State Regents exams. The new policy states that any student who is in POSSESSION of any electronic device while taking a Regents exam shall have their exam invalidated.
In other words, if a student has a cell phone in their pocket and is taking an exam, that exam will be automatically nullified. The exam will be voided even if the student can demonstrate that he or she did not cheat in anyway. Simply being in possession of a cell phone or any electronic device (including an Ipod) will result in that exam being terminated!
This policy will be strictly enforced during Regents week.
